I saw in the weekly Hy-Vee ad that Hatch Peppers are going to be back in stock soon.  This excites me for SEVERAL reasons.  One, because I love making fresh salsa using a wide variety of fresh peppers.  I grow my own jalapenos, but when Hatch Peppers are available I grab them up and use them!  The other reason is (fingers crossed here…) because Hy-Vee has a Hatch Pepper bratwurst that is amazing.  I really haven’t had a bad experience with ANY of the bratwurst varieties that Hy-Vee carries at their meat counter, but when I saw Hatch Pepper Brats last year… I was intrigued!  What intrigued me more was the woman in front of me who bought them completely OUT of what they had in stock and couldn’t stop raving about how delicious they are.  Well hey… lady!  Save some for the rest of us dammit!  Fortunately for me, the next time I was in, they had more in stock.  I purchased them, and grilled them up that night.  Think about giving them a try while you can!
