When I was doing my live shows down at CWS this year I caught a commercial on the big screen about the upcoming remake (or reboot… or re-imagining 0f) the movie “Child’s Play.” Sometimes it just seems like there are no new ideas out there and Hollywood certainly seems to go to the well on many occasions. The same can be said for music. Cover tunes are a dime a dozen, and usually I’m not a huge fan of most of them. So what happens when members of Hollywood and the movies… and members of the rock music scene get together and decide to “go to the well” for a tune? In this instance… I think it’s something pretty awesome! Hollywood Vampires is part rock royalty with both Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry… and part Hollywood with Johnny Depp. They decided to take on the classic Bowie tune “Heroes” and they did it REALLY well.
