Husker Gameday is my favorite for several reasons:

1) It’s my team (and Scott Frostmeow)
2) It’s’ football
3) I get to eat all of the snacks
4) I get to drink all of the booze

There are a few game day traditions I have, in terms of food and alcohol, and they start at Hy-Vee:

Hy-Vee’s seven-layer dip & “Husker” tortilla chips

I’ve been eating this favorite since I was a teenager. Hy-Vee’s version is the best and I have to pair it with their red and white tortilla chips, that my family and I refer to as “Husker chips.”

White Claws & Fireball

Alright, before you deem me basic, understand that there are, indeed, no laws when drinking Claws. I’ve totally jumped on the hard seltzer bandwagon and I’m not afraid to admit it! They’re tasty, low-calorie and REALLY good to pair with another liquor, like white rum or silver tequila.
And, say what you want about Fireball, but I love it. Memorial Stadium has its touchdown balloon release tradition; my family has its touchdown Fireball shot tradition (the only difference: Husker fans release balloons on the first touchdown and we keep taking shots for every touchdown).

PLUS, all of the prices are perfect for my budget, which makes my bank account super happy. These are a few of my gameday traditions, made possible by my favorite Omaha-area Hy-Vee. Try a few of them out, for yourself, on the next Husker Gameday!

GO BIG RED!
